Scaling HitchStyle.com Production with Commercial 3D Printing

Multiply Parts helped HitchStyle.com scale the manufacturing of its growing line of 3D-printed automotive hitch covers, creating a flexible production system capable of supporting 48 product variants while maintaining consistent quality and responding quickly to customer demand.

Producing such a broad product line using traditional manufacturing would typically require significant investment in tooling, molds, inventory, and minimum production quantities. By using commercial 3D printing and on-demand manufacturing, Multiply Parts enabled HitchStyle.com to manufacture multiple designs and variants using the same digital production infrastructure.

An optimized production workflow was developed to increase manufacturing capacity, reduce lead times, and maintain consistent dimensional accuracy and finish across repeated production runs. Digital manufacturing also allows production to shift quickly between different hitch cover designs based on actual orders rather than relying on forecasts and large inventories of finished products.

This approach gives HitchStyle.com the flexibility to introduce new designs, adjust existing products, and manufacture lower-volume variants without creating new molds or dedicated tooling. As demand changes, production capacity can be allocated where it is needed most.

The project demonstrates how additive manufacturing can move beyond prototyping and become a practical solution for scalable, short-run commercial production, particularly for businesses offering a large number of product variations.

The result: 48 product variants, faster production, lower inventory requirements, consistent manufacturing quality, and an on-demand production model that can scale alongside customer demand.
